Craftyhazelnut's Christmas challenge extra for April

It's hard to believe that three months of the year have gone already. I know that some crafters think it's far too early to think about making Christmas cards, but there are others that feel that it does make perfect sense - so much so that there were 278 entries for my CHNC challenge extra for March. So, if you haven't yet joined in, now is perhaps the time to do so - CHNC challenge extra for April - just click on the link to participate and also see the wonderful creations by the rest of the team.

For my design card for CHNC challenge extra for April I used Chubby Snowman Scarf kindly supplied by Bugaboo Stamps, sponsor of the challenge. I coloured the image digitially in Paint and used card from my Christmas offcuts box, a stray sentiment circle (there is gold foiling on this, not black as it looks in the photo), some prima spacers and three little gems.

I followed the sketch given for Sketch and Stash 136:

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper April challenge

I was so overwhelmed by the number of entries for my Patterned Paper March challenge - over 600 - no, that isn't an April fool! If you haven't yet discovered this challenge blog that I started at the beginning of the year, please click here for the April challenge and join in. The monthly challenge will always be 'anything goes' as long as you cover your card blank or other creation with patterned paper or card, using any size or shape that you wish - there are no other rules! You can add embellishments if you wish, stamp, emboss etc - but you must cover your card blank with patterned paper or card. The creation can be for any occasion.

You can leave a small border around your paper when you adhere it to the card blank if you wish, but only a small border! And your creation doesn't have to be a card, it can be any project as long as it is covered with patterned paper.

For the beginning of the April challenge I've made two quick cards using Hunkydory patterned card and Kanban bottles and glasses.

The bottles and glasses stickers have a holographic look with colours that change according to the light. It was difficult to get photos, so I had to tilt the camera:

This is the second card - there is hardly any light shining on the bottle and glass here:

But here you can see the holographic bling look of the bottle:

Guest designer for Lexi Creations 113: Easter

I'm privileged today to be a guest designer for Lexi Creations 113: Easter.

I used their 'Easter egg Lillie' digital image (available here), colouring with spectrum noir pens. The main background paper was a magazine freebie from last year or the year before and the strip across the bottom was from PDA card and craft, wrapped round with a piece of sentiment ribbon on Poundland.

I tore round the image usingperspex oval templates, inking the torn edges with a spectrum. The glittered eggs were from Poundland.

Cheerful stamp pad challenge 83: add some flowers

It's time for a new Cheerful stamp pad challenge and the theme for this fortnight is 'add some flowers'. The challenge is being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps. Please click here to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and also to add your entries.

For my design card I used  'bug jar caterpillar' by Bugaboo Stamps', colouring digitally in Paint and adding the text. The background was created with some patterned paper and acrylic paint and stencils using my gelli plate. There are strips of washi tape and ribbon down the side, although most of this is covered by the Craftime flowers.
