Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

This is my third card for my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper September challenge, using offcuts of the two foiled papes and one patterned paper used for the previous two cards - taken from a pack of Fantastic Foils Pippie's garden collection - these papers are also to be found in the prize for my September challenge - full details here. The topper and sentiment banners are also from the Pippi Garden collection.

This is another Pippi's garden card for my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper September challenge, using papers similar to those in the prize pack - details here - hope you will be able to join in with your entries.
For this card I've used part of one of the foiled papers and an offcut of patterned paper left over from the previous card. Once again, there's a coordinating topper and sentiment.

The glory of Christmas challenge 41

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

There is a bingo grid for today's Glory of Christmas challenge 41:

Please click on the challenge link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team - and we would love you to choose a line of 3 to use on a Christmas creation and join in with your entries.

I chose the left colum down: ribbon snowflake and silver, although I also have glitter and trees on my card.  The background, topper and sentiment are all from Hunkydory's moonlight Christmas. The lovely organza and glitter ribbon with the snowflakes was part of a prize I won a while back - this is the first time I've used any of it.

Trifold card

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

This is a trifold card made with a sparkly stardream deep blue card blank and Hunkydory 'moonlight Christmas' card and elements.

The background for each of the three parts of the card was originally one A4 picture, so it flows from the front panel into the middle and then the back - harder to show on here than irl.

CHNC challenge 192: people matter

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

The theme  for CHNC challenge 192 for this week is 'people matter' - I'd like to see people on your Christmas creations - at least one person (can be child or adult, but must be human!) I'd love to see your entries there - and this week there are four prizes to be won by randomly chosen winners.

For my two cards I've used card, toppers and sentiments from a Hunkydory Christmas choir set, part of their Traditional Christmas range. The background card was one piece, but I thought it was too good to fold in half, so I added each half to A5 card blanks. The music strip down the side of each card was offcut from the waste around the die cut toppers etc.

The sentiment on the left hand card says 'Christmas Blessings' and the one on the right says 'Wishing you Peace and Love this Christmas time'.

This is my design card for Completely Christmas challenge 27, which is 'anything goes' - as long as it's Christmas, of course. Please click the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and we hope you will join in with your own entries.

I created this card digitally using an iPad background and superimposing Lacy Sunshine's 'Christmas boo' (kindly supplied by the sponsor), which I had coloured digitally in Microsoft Paint and faded around the edges. This clean and simple card was then finished with the digitally produced sentiment.

Sweet pea stampers challenge: use lots of layers

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

This is my design card for this fortnight's Sweet pea stampers challenge: use lots of layers.

The image is Sweet Pea Stamps Regan Kubecek's 'fairy bride' rubber stamp (also available as a digi) coloured with spectrum noir and mounted on a piece of Hunkydory foiled card. This was then mounted on to an embossed square from Craftwell's Teresa Collins swirltangle embossing folder. The lovely velvet pleats are from Maya Road and the flowers from Hobbycraft. The corrugated paper strips were from Poundland (I think!). The background paper is from an unknown kit that I've been using up recently.

The photo given for Perfectly rustics 30 reminds me not only of flowers, but particularly of these lovely pink velvet pleated circles from Maya Road:

And the colours and 'garden theme' with flowers are prompted by the photo given for The shabby tea room 233:

Retirement by the sea

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

Yesterday I made ten quick cards using supplies from a free Hunkydory members gift - all about the seaside. The way the weather has turned I somehow don't think any of the cards will get used now this year, but will be ready for next!

At first I was going to make five cards using the A4 cards folded, but then I decided that it seemed a bit of a waste to use the other halves on the back of the cards, so I cut all of them and mounted on to white A5 card blanks, that way I got ten cards instead of five.

The silver foiled sentiment says: 'We'll miss you! Enjoy your retirement!'. I added two little flip flop embellishments.

Belated birthday wishes

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

The paper for this card is an offcut from  GCDstudios paris nights collection - double sided. The main background piece is flocked and almost feels like velvet. I wrapped the thick black lace around the smaller piece - the lace looks a lot more defined in real life - adding the Craftime sentiment, the Bebe Daniels picture (which was in a bag of ephemera) and the brown flower with the prima spacer inside.

More sunflowers

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

Having made the previous card using a Papermania sunflower border, I had a piece left over - not a very long piece because the previous card was 8 x 8. I've used this to put on the base of a card with 'just for you' background from a bloc that I bought years ago (I have so many of these and don't think I'd use them up even if I used a piece every day till I'm 100!).

All it needed then was the Craftime sentiment and the embossed die cut butterfly with parts inked with a spectrum noir.

Sunflowers to brighten a dull day

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

It rained all day yesterday and what is it doing today? ... raining!

So it's nice to use some sunflowers to brighten the day. What do you do with a piece of 8 x 8 paper that is a picture in itself and really doesn't need much added to it ... add a Papermania sunflower border, of course - and a sentiment panel.

Among my birthday presents I had an M & S gift card. Instead of putting the front of the card in the paper recycling bin, I've used it on this card, using an A5 yellow card blank and two pieces of paper from my offcuts box. A few Poundland felt buttons and the card was done.

I was inspired by the wavy lines for this Use your stuff 150: ad inspired challenge, as well as the bright colours:

Rudolph day

Please click here for a chance to win a 2-day ticket for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace 20-21 September

25th of the month has come round quickly again and it's time for Sarn's Rudolph Day when she asks us to show two Christmas cards. I missed last month's, but was determined not to miss this time (how could I miss Rudolph Day when I make so many Christmas cards?!).

My cards are simple, made with offcuts of My Mind's Eye 'snowed in' winter paper with some of Bazzill Basics 'timeless' snippets too.

The 3D stickers are Express Yourself DIY (I've had these for ages) - they have some lovely felt pieces that make them so 'touch and feely'. Sentiment circles are Craftwork cards.

Winter cardinal

It was Mary's turn to choose the theme for this fortnight's CCC challenge and she asked us to include a cardinal or another winter bird.

For my card I've used Sparkle n sprinkle 'winter cardinal' colouring with spectrum noir pens.

I followed the sketch for Atlantic hearts 69:
I used a piece of My Mind's Eye 'snowed in' winter papers for the background and for the punched out snowflakes, overlaying a piece of Papermania 'at Christmas time' vellum - I was able to glue this underneath the image, the sentiment and the snowflakes to secure the vellum into place.

Simply less is more

It's a long time since I played along with a challenge at Less is more, but the sketch for today's challenge 186

was just right to showcase a stamped chipboard square that I'd made this afternoon. I found up a piece of chipboard that I had previously coloured with Caran d'arche neocolor pastels that I had swiped and blended with a baby wipe to produce an ombre effect for Keep it simple 47: ombre.

I stamped the piece of chipboard with a favourite Magenta stamp that I haven't used for ages - inked with Stazon black.
