JB challenge: O Christmas tree

Nicky set this challenge:

'I'm guessing that many of you are busy getting on with your Christmas cards right now, so here's an easy challenge that you were probably going to do anyway..........

I'd like you to make a Christmas card featuring a tree! See, told you it was easy!!'

More magazine papers and other bits and pieces:

That's another card made - and still a lot of papers, embellishments etc hanging around.

JB December challenge 1: a sketch 4 u

Lisa challenged us with this sketch:

Sticking with red and green, this is what I made - the papers, including the sentiment strips were free with a magazine and the glittery snowflake is from this year's DCWV winter collection:

JB: Traditional Christmas challenge

On JB Bex challenged us: I challenge you to make a card, ANY type of card, just use traditional Christmas Red & Green!'

I need now to make an effort to use up some of the bits and pieces that I've got left from making other cards, so that I don't have as much Christmas craft stuff to stash away in the new year as I had at the beginning of this year. And quite a lot of it is red and green, so this challenge wasn't that difficult - it was more a case of what not to use, rather than what to use. Nearly everything on the card is Brenda Pinnick (last year or the year before!):

'

CBC 077 pink and green

This challenge, set by Joanne on CBC, says: 'Pink and green should never be seen, except upon a fairy queen!

There are so many versions of this saying - the combination of prohibited colours changes, sometimes she's an Irish colleen, you get the picture!

Today's challenge is to prove the saying wrong - let's celebrate pink and green combos! You can throw in the fairy queen as well if you'd like to Cards, LOs, tags, altered items... anything goes!'

I used DCW 2008 winter collection papers and most of the embellishments are Brenda Pinnick chipboard (trying to use up the bits!). With it getting dark so early now, I had to take flash photos and the colours aren't as good as irl - here the reds look redder, whereas irl they blend in more with the overall pinky look.

TGIF 61: games + Cupcake:16: vintage

While I'd got the box out with the photos for the builder's card shown on the previous post, I decided to make two or three very quick cards, using some dominoes photos. The theme on TGIF this week is games, so I thought these were appropriate. It so happened that I had a Happy Birthday with a background that matched the background of the dominoes photo, so I just mounted it with a domino surround:

The other two cards have a vintage feel about them, so I'm linking them for challenge 16 on Cupcake craft as well as for TGIF:

Crafty Creations 28: for the boys

I was asked by a friend to make a 50th birthday card for someone who is a builder - incorporating a builder's van or something related to the trade. I thought I was going to have to get a clipart picture or something - crafty friends made suggestions of certain die cuts etc.

This morning I suddenly remembered that there were some builder type photos among those I got with a QVC concept card package a while ago.

So the photos, which are silver foil edged have been mounted on to a sheet of paving slabs from PDA. I thought the addition of the screw brads that I bought ages ago from CBC was a good idea.

It's probably stretching a point, but I'm linking this for this week's challenge on Crafty Creations: 'for the boys' (it doesn't say how old the boys need to be!).

It was difficult to get a photo because of the silver reflection, but you can get the idea.

BF Advent 1 and HS:MS:HS

Today is the first day of December - the day when we can start opening advent presents. The other day I showed the parcel I received from my secret advent swapee (is that a word?) on BF forum.

Today I can open number 1!

and this is what it contains:

I love these little clips - I've not seen the black and white ones before. Thank you to my secret santa.

I think this is also fine for today's 'advent' prompt on HS:MS:HS.
